• Research. Conrad was a well-known and respected businessman in Tofield.
He trained at Vermilion School of Agriculture and at Calgary School of Technology as a mechanic and welder and built the Tofield Service Station into a good business employing brother Arthur and 3 other mechanics. He sold and serviced Dodge / Desoto cars, Allis Chalmers farm machinery and TV sets.
He was an avid and talented curler and was a life member of the Tofield Curling Club. Served many years on the Tofield town council as a councilman and mayor and was a leader in the Tofield Community League. He was a long-standing member and Elder of the Tofield United Church and the Amisk Creek Lutheran Church.
Conrad married Hazel Bernice HILLERUD, daughter of Hans Berg HILLERUD and Martha Iverine SOLBERG, on 22 Jul 1936 in Hillerud Farm, Ryley, Alberta.
